This tutorial shows how to move to Namecheap - which oppose SOPA, but under the circumstances I'd really try not to host anything in the USA.
OMG, "Name Cheap", that sounds just as bad as "Go Daddy".. .
I noticed on the Reddit page all the discounts from a bunch of other registrars with discount codes a la "byegodaddy". Nice.

I second your advice on using Gandi.net and not registering domains in the USA, it's a very unstable country when it comes to Freedom of speech and Internet legislation in general.
