This is a burning subject at the moment with Broadcom being how they are. An article on migration would probably be 10 pages long if we go into technical details, but super-high-level I would say the required things you need to have to attempt this type of endeavour are: 1 - a _will_ to make it happen, because simple or easy it will not be and it will also be a major cultural change inside your business or project. 2 - _good_ sysadmins, good linux people that are able to deal with things at all the levels of the stack relatively easily. You are about to leave the comfortable cage of VMWare, open source is there to ease your fall, but also gives you the tools to shoort yourself in the foot. Before you start, make sure you are prepared.
